Free Tax Preparation

United Way Fresno and Madera Counties provides free tax preparations to low- and moderate-income individuals, families, and seniors every tax season, from the end of January through Tax Day in April. Tax returns are prepared by trained and IRS-certified volunteers at local community organizations. Last season, our free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program has returned over $18 million to the Valley’s working class.

Free Tax Prep season for spring 2024 has ended in Fresno County. However, a limited amount of appointments for late filers are still available through the end of June. If you still need to file, need to be set up with an ITIN number or, if you filed your taxes with us and need a filing amendment, please call 211 to set up an appointment with an IRS-certified tax volunteer.
