Sierra San Joaquin Jobs

10 MILLION REASONS TO CELEBRATE!

United Way Fresno and Madera Counties has been awarded a $10 million grant as part of the Community Economic Resilience Fund (CERF). The Sierra San Joaquin Jobs grant, provided by the State of California, will support efforts to create wealth and prosperity in disinvested populations in the Central Valley. The grant is intended to assist with bringing thousands of quality jobs, advancing entrepreneurship and access to capital for hundreds of minority business owners, and providing infrastructure in urban digital deserts while creating a demonstration model for scale and replication.

We are working closely with partners from the Fresno Economic Development Commission, Access Plus Capital, Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce and other local employers to offer:

– job training for 1434 individuals that will lead to the creation of as many jobs over the next two years
– career assistance for 210 entrepreneurs of Color
– digital infrastructure for 30,000 residents who currently go without

If you are in need of a job right away, please visit our friends at Workforce Connection. Call 211 if you are struggling and in search of basic resources, like food or utilities assistance.
